A taste of France right here in the dales

20th May 2022

We’ve formed a new partnership with a local association which we believe will create some excellent new cultural opportunities for our students and their families.

Middleham Twinners is a local group which has been going for more than 40 years and has formed strong links between families in the local area and in Azincourt (Agincourt), France, with which Middleham is twinned.

Every year, a visit is arranged between families and individuals who are prepared to host visitors in their own homes for two nights.  The next visit will be in 2023 when the French will be coming to Middleham for a weekend of fun.

The group is looking for new families to join and speaking French is not a requirement!  But it is important that members want to have fun and are willing to learn more about life in a different rural community. This is not only for students but for their families too – all are welcome (including dads and male carers, who historically have tended not to get involved as much).

To find out more, why not go along to the breakfast they are hosting next month at the Key Centre in Middleham on Saturday 11th June 10-12am.  This leaflet has all the details.

Peter and Jane Cole from the Middleham Twinners were  also interviewed by the newspaper enrichment group a few weeks ago, which you can read here.
