GCSE Results Day 2022

25th August 2022
Year 11 students looking at results

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students who are the first cohort to take externally-graded exams in two years, following the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite their Year 10 studies being significantly disrupted, we are able to say that every single student sat their exams this year, and that is important to remember.

Throughout 2022, the overall wellbeing of our students was paramount. We supported a number of students through anxiety and other mental health issues who have gone on to achieve excellent results down to their determination to succeed.

There have been some outstanding results and special mentions must go to:

  • Cleo Baker achieving 4 grade 8s, 4 grade 7s, and 10 higher grade passes overall

  • Arthur Clarkson achieving 2 x grade 8s, and 5 x grade 7s, and 10 overall higher grade passes

  • Charlotte Curnin achieving 11 overall higher grade passes

  • Poppy Hainsworth achieving 2 x grade 8s, 4 grade 7s, 4 grade 6s, and 10 higher passes overall

  • Oscar Lambert achieving 10 overall higher grade passes including an incredible grade 9 in GCSE business studies

All our students, parents, and staff worked together to achieve today’s results – an approach that will continue in years to come.

The overall results we celebrate this year reflect the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. On behalf of all the staff at The Wensleydale School and Sixth Form, I would like to congratulate each and every one of our students, as they have gone above and beyond to achieve the results they deserve.

We wish all of our students future success as they move into the next step of their education. We know that they will continue to achieve great things within their chosen fields of study.
