Success and Support

13th March 2020

Two fabulous events this week.

Early in the week 4 students took part in the Rotary Technology tournament at Catterick Garrison. Hosted by the Rotary club each year, we have been unlucky in not being able to compete over the last 2 years. However Mrs Coupland- Buckley was up for the challenge this year and has thrown herself into the project. Despite having only a few weeks  to prepare Olivia, Finley, Zara and  Oliver were  ready and enthusiastic. They perfomed really well in the written elements and the planning phases and were in 2nd position. Unfortunately their model which had to be designed to self propel uphill, encountered some technical issues so in the end they had to accept 4th Place. This is a huge achievement however as there were 9 teams in their category. Mrs Coupland-Buckley stated  ‘I am very competitive and watch out next year!’

This morning we were very honored and proud to host Lt Col Turner and Regimental Sergeant Major Reeve from Catterick garrison. The CCF Cadets had been rehearsing their drill demonstration all week in preparation for the visit and preparing their uniforms and boots. Following the demonstration and inspection by our guests, the cadets hosted them in our CCF Hall with tea and biscuits. To our delight and surprise Lt Col Turner and RSM Reeve had bought a small award with them for the best cadet on parade. This was presented to Jessica Milne in year 9.  I was extremely proud of our staff and cadets and very grateful to the Garrison for the support.
