Staff and students at The Wensleydale School and Sixth Form are supporting their local community by donating food hampers to local students and their families in a bid to spread some extra festive cheer.
Local shops have been involved too and special thanks goes to Campbells, Co-Op Leyburn, Thomas the Bakers, Leyburn and Tesco Catterick. The students have contributed through a non-uniform day, where instead of asking for a monetary donation they brought in store cupboard items and toiletries.
Headteacher Mrs Polley would like to extend a massive thank you to all who responded brilliantly with their donations and adds: “We are incredibly grateful to the students, staff, and their supportive extended families and friends, who have been particularly generous. We have started to deliver our hampers and our students are very excited to spread special Christmas joy during these difficult times.”
